URBAN Web managing director Steve Endacott has banned tour operators from sending his company faxes and is urging them to communicate electronically.
Endacott, who has set up a £2m telesales venture Holidays by Phone, wants operators to send brochures, confirmation details and late deals by e-mail.
“We’re spending £250,000 on new technology and we can call up any operators’ pages and discounts,” said Endacott. “But to make it efficient, it must be electronic.”
Endacott said he would also write to ABTAto urge the association to initiate a project encouraging all agents to form an e-mail network.
