Less than a quarter of homeworkers earn more than £300 a week, according to a poll by Future Travel.
The survey revealed 24% earn more than £300 a week, 13% earn between £200 and £250 a week with 18% between £151 and £200 a week.
£300 a week equates to £15,600 a year.
The research also showed homeworkers work long hours for their pay with 45% working between 41 and 60 hours a week, with a further 22% working more than 60 hours a week.
The 600-strong homeworking firm also revealed 42% of its homeworkers came from the multiples’ high street stores compared to only 31% form the independent sector.
Almost four out of ten of the female dominated workforce said they become homeworkers due to childcare responsibilities, 22% saw it as an opportunity to earn more money, while 14% wanted a change from working in a high street branch.
