Midconsort reveals ‘Elite Desktop’ dynamic packaging system – 7 Dec 2006

Midconsort Elite members will be able to create their own consumer-facing website when dynamic packaging system Elite Desktop launches in January.

The system will display dynamically-packaged and traditional package holidays and allows members to mark-up all types of fares.

The Multicom-designed Elite Desktop uses the Findandbook system, operated by Thomas Cook-owned Flexibletrips. It incorporates viewdata, a range of accommodation-only firms, Amadeus’ global distribution system and 35 no-frills carriers.

Midconsort Elite members will be able to add their own branding and use it as a consumer-facing website.

Multicom receives £2 per booking but there is no contract or rental charge.

Viewdata members can use the package holiday search system free.

Multicom general manager Chris Nourse said: “The platform has been designed to be flexible so it can meet individual requirements. All the product is in one place so you no longer have to go in and out of different systems to look at a range of suppliers.”
