Superbreak sees boost in airport hotel bookings – 22 Jan 2007

Superbreak Mini-Holidays saw a 19% growth for its airport hotels programme through travel agents last year.

The domestic operator had more than 150,000 customers booked in 2006.

Sales director Ian Mounser said the increase was consistent during the entire year, with even the usually quiet month of December showing a 17% increase.

He added, as the add-on becomes increasingly popular agents should be looking to book more for this year’s summer programme.

“As our figures show airport hotels are a valuable add-on and demand is continuing to grow,” he said. “Agents are clearly seeing the customer service benefits of offering to book an airport hotel and it shows that they have thought about their customers overall experience.

“I still believe that many customers will opt for this add-on once they realise the marginal extra cost for an overnight with parking package as opposed to simply arriving and parking at the airport.”
