PSARA to provide cruise training for Triton agents – 23 Jan 2007

The Triton Travel Group has teamed up with the Passenger Shipping Association Retail Agents’ scheme to offer members of its specialist cruise club the chance to go on tailored training courses.

Triton’s Cruise Advisor has signed up agents who want to increase their cruise sales across Worldchoice, Global Travel Group and Advantage.

The tie-up with PSARA means Cruise Advisor members automatically get free membership and can go on a variety of courses nationwise from February 7. They range from a basic course on understanding cruising, to selling cruising, selling luxury cruising, selling specialist cruising, advanced cruising and a cruise expert workshop.

Triton has footed the bill for membership of Cruise Advisor agents to PSARA. Membership is normally £130, plus a £20 joining fee. Members will be sent PSARA newsletters and have access to deck plans and other generic information.

Triton training director Barbara Collins said: “We see this type of training as crucial, especially specialist courses. This enables us very quickly to offer a raft of training. We don’t want to invent the wheel twice so it makes sense to use PSARA’s courses.”

Cruise Advisor members will also have access to other product and marketing courses run by Triton to be rolled out in the next six months.
