I felt compelled to comment on the letter of the week about the ATC, (Travel Weekly November 29).
The ATCruns an Aussie Specialist scheme which is open to any agency that pays their fee and completes regular ‘questionnaires’ designed to deem you a true specialist.
When a member of the public makes an enquiry the ATC will send them a list consisting of two local specialists and a national one to make contact with if they so wish.
The enquirer’s name is then forwarded to each of the agencies listed to do with as they please.
I am the manager of Travel Australia in Norwich and we only sell holidays to Australia (and New Zealand). All of the staff have been to Australia and are extremely experienced in this field.
We have always found the ATC nothing but wonderful in the assistance provided to us. We are constantly kept up to date with any changes affecting selling Down Under.
