Online travel community firm TripAdvisor has launched two new websites for French and German travellers.
The localized sites feature country-specific travel information and local-language reviews and forum postings in addition to regular content from the main TripAdvisor site.
TripAdvisor’s managing director for Europe Marc Charron said the move demonstrated the company’s commitment to the European market and marked “a major milestone” in its global expansion.
“Travel planning and sharing information is one of the top uses of the web in both France and Germany and this initiative will provide those travellers with both unparalled global access and a local focus,” Charron said.
Tripadvisor currently receives around two million users each month from France and Germany.
