Former easyCruise CEO Gwyn Hughes gets second non-exec role – 30 May 2007

Independent hotel information and ratings business Cranley Group has appointed Gwyn Hughes as its first non-executive chairman.

The former easyCruise chief executive and P&O Cruises managing director, who is already a non-executive director of Bales Worldwide, has been brought in to oversee the online firm’s expansion.

Cranley Group’s chief executive Mike Murray called Hughes “a visionary with a real pulse on market trends and in depth knowledge of the industry”.

Meanwhile, Hughes said: “I’m excited to be involved with this business in its embryonic stage of development… I am confident that the Cranley Group will achieve expansion targets and a profitable business model within the next two years.”

Cranley was founded in 2006 by Murray and Joaquim Rodrigues with a focus on hotels in the Middle East. It is now preparing to add information on hotels in Europe and the US and is set to announce a “number” of strategic partnerships with intermediaries.
