World Travel Market has opened online registration for its WTM 2007 event at ExCeL London and announced a new responsible tourism initiative.
To attend four-day travel trade event, which runs from 12-15 November, register for the event on the WTM website.
The company has also announced plans to support the inaugural WTM World Responsible Tourism Day on November 14.
It has brought together an advisory panel of eight experts in responsible tourism, headed by Harold Goodwin, Professor of responsible tourism management at Leeds Metropolitan University.
The panel will tackle issues such as poverty reduction and carbon offsetting and look at ways of developing the day into an annual day of international action.
World Travel Market managing director Fiona Jeffery said: “WTM World Responsible Tourism Day is a unique opportunity for governments, the travel industry, local communities and travellers to show that it is practical contributions that count, not just talk.
“The advisory panel will provide us with invaluable advice and support as the Day develops and expands.”
