Elite Travel Group general manager Paul Cowley quits – 9 Jul 2007

Paul Cowley has quit as general manager of the Elite Travel Group, previously known as Midconsort Elite, after just six months.

Cowley said he made the decision to step down from Elite Travel Group so that he can devote more time to his family following the unexpected death of his father.

He also cited the long distance between his home in Sheffield and the consortium’s offices in Birmingham.

His last day at Elite Travel Group was July 5.

Chairman Neil Basnett said: “This is obviously a very regrettable situation and I’d like to take this opportunity of wishing Paul every success for the future as well as thanking him for his contribution in the time he has been with the consortium.”

A replacement for Cowley is now being sought by the Elite Travel Group board and an announcement is expected soon.

Cowley is expected to stay in the travel industry after taking some time out to be with his family.
