At least two potential sites for new Travelbag branches are under consideration by parent company Stella Travel Services UK.
The long-haul specialist retailer, bought for £7 million in July from Travelport, has eight branches – in London, Solihull, Cheltenham, Winchester, Knutsford, Nottingham, Alton and Brighton – employing 15 people in each.
UK managing director Andrew Laurie said: “We have a couple of sites in the pipeline and we are still looking at the moment. It could be quite soon but we need to find the right sites and good locations. We are keen to open shops.”
Meanwhile, the group is also looking at ways to expand its main retail chain Harvey World Travel.
But Laurie stressed this would not necessarily involve further acquisitions. “We are looking at lots of options. It doesn’t necessarily mean we are looking at companies to buy,” he said.
Details of expansion plans are likely to be revealed within the next two months.
