The first of 20 Hampton by Hilton hotels is to open in Corby by the end of 2008.
Hilton Hotels Corporation has signed a franchise deal for its “new kind of economy hotel”, which trades as Hampton Inn in the US.
Franchisee Hotel Solutions London Limited will open the first 86-guestroom hotel on the new Rockingham Leisure Park in Corby. It plans 20 Hampton by Hilton hotels over the next five years.
All the hotels will offer complimentary high-speed Internet access, a complimentary hot breakfast and 100% satisfaction guarantee.
Speaking at Deloitte’s Hotel Investment conference, senior vice president for Europe and Africa Patrick Fitzgibbon said there was huge potential for growth in the UK market. “The UK economy sector is booming. There is a lot of opportunity for us but there’s lots of room for everyone,” he said.
Hilton will undertake an aggressive recruitment strategy to secure the best people for its new brands, he added.
“We’re going to persuade people who work for our competitors to come and work for us. Hotels will also start outsourcing their services, in the way that the Hilton Prague Old Town is home to Gordon Ramsey’s Maze.”
Hilton currently has 75 hotels in the UK and plans to double that figure over the next ten years.
