Activity and tour provider dosomethingdifferent.com is launching a dedicated trade website allowing agents control over their commission.
Agencies can feature their own logo and branding on the white label site and choose which destinations they want to display to customers.
Commercial director Ian Coyle said by using the white label system, agents could deter customers from booking direct. He said: “If customers see the dosomethingdifferent.com branding, there’s nothing to stop them leaving the agency and booking themselves. It also means if agents feel they can sell at a higher price they can do so. This is essentially a comfort blanket for them.”
As more agents use dynamic packaging, booking activities and tours is a “diamond opportunity” for them to make more money, he said.
“At the moment customers are booking flights and accommodation through an agent then coming to us for their trips. There is great potential for agents in this market.”
Coyle suggested agents sell tours via their after-sale communication. “A key opportunity is for agents to promote the range when they’re sending out balance letters or confirmation.”
The product includes the same range of mostly long-haul activities, tours and attractions as the consumer site. The operator plans to grow its European range, with Barcelona, Valencia, Costa del Sol and the Canaries to be added by early next year. Vietnam will also be added by the end of 2007.
