Air New Zealand is to introduce in-flight concierges on its international services.
The airline will employ up to 90 concierges to escort passengers to and from the aircraft, recommend activities, assist customers with onward travel and support customers affected by weather disruption.
The new service will be launched in April on services between Auckland and Los Angeles, San Francisco, Vancouver and Hong Kong. Concierges will appear on London flights from May/June 2008.
General manager UK and Europe Scott Carr said: “A number of cabin crew have told us that it’s increasingly difficult for them to spend as much time as they’d like with each customer due to our full cabins. This service will ensure that everyone travelling with Air New Zealand receives the personal attention they deserve and advice they need.”
