Ryanair on course for 120m passengers this year

Lower fares helped give Ryanair a 10% boost in carryings last month to 8.2 million passengers.

The budget airline’s load factor rose by two percentage points to 95% over February 2016.

The figures gave Ryanair a 14% increase in rolling annual passenger numbers to 119.1 million.

Chief marketing office Kenny Jacobs said: “Ryanair’s lower fares and ‘Always Getting Better’ services are leading to slightly higher than expected load factors and accordingly we now expect full year traffic to just about hit 120 million, up almost 13% over the 106.4 million customers we carried in financial year 2016.”
