Barrhead Travel agents in Glasgow were treated to a visit by former NASA astronaut, Brian Duffy.
The astronaut, who is a veteran of four missions to space and spent 40 days in orbit during one mission, met agents at the Oswald Street store along with a team from the Kennedy Space Centre Visitor Complex in Florida.
Barrhead Travel chief executive Sharon Munro said Florida bookings are incredibly popular and the Kennedy Space Centre Visitor Complex plays a major role in attracting holidaymakers to this destination.
She said: “We were thrilled to welcome a real-life astronaut to the store for what proved to be a stellar day – it’s fair to say we were over the moon about it.
“We saw a real bookings boom in January, and Florida continues to attract a huge amount of interest.
“Staff training is at the heart of what we do and it’s vital that our team members know all there is to know about our visitor attraction holiday packages.
“As a former astronaut, no one knows more about the Kennedy Space Centre Visitor Complex than Brian does, so he’ll be able to pass on all the vital information about the attraction to the team. “
