Staff at Wendy Wu Tours have been rewarded with traditional red envelopes to mark a record start to the year.
Founder Wendy Wu decided to fill each envelope with a £50 note for each of the company’s employees in-keeping with Chinese custom.
Wu said: “I wanted to thank every member of the team for their contribution to our record start to the year.
“Our entire team work so hard and long hours, so there’s no better celebration than a big thank you with a red envelope for everyone.”
Red envelopes containing money are traditionally given out at weddings or during the holidays in China and with many of the Wendy Wu staff learning about this custom for the first time.
Senior marketing executive Emily Andrews said: “It was a lovely and unexpected touch by Wendy. I was amazed to see a crisp £50 note inside.
“We are all very excited by our great start to the year. I look forward to the next red envelope.”
