Cosmos expects rise in Florida programme due to Euro

Cosmos Holidays expects more customers to use its new Florida 2009 programme as the pound continues to struggle against the euro.

Cosmos head of product for Florida Neil Garner said the while the pound is worth just Euro1.25, it is still worth nearly $2. He said the exchange rate has seen Florida packages rise by 65% this year and he is hoping this will lead to a further 30% rise for the 2009 programme.

Garner said: “Agents can gain from early-booking offers and lower prices to achieve early sales and maximise their commission earning potential.”

To meet anticipated demand the operator has added two extra apartment complexes, while the operator has worked hard to ensure a range of accommodation is available for all budgets.

Garner also said entering the US has become much easier as customs officials have taken note of complaints that they are too heavy-handed.

Package prices start at £479 per person based on a seven-night stay at the two-star Metropolitan Express in September, with return flights and car hire.
