The late Easter helped give a boost to Le Shuttle car carryings through the Channel Tunnel last month.
Passenger shuttle traffic rose by 17% year-on-year to 244,032 vehicles transported, parent company Eurotunnel revealed today.
Le Shuttle had benefited “from a favourable calendar effect due to the shift in the Easter weekend,” the company said.
“Since January 1, passenger Shuttle traffic has been stable with nearly 722,000 vehicles transported.”
Freight transportation fell over the same period by 2% to just under 550,000 lorries.
