Appeal for Westoe Travel apprentice missing since Manchester attack

Westoe Travel is appealing for help to find part-time staff member Chloe Rutherford who has been missing with her boyfriend since Monday’s terror attack in Manchester.

Owner Graeme Brett described Chloe, 17, who went to see pop singer Ariana Grande at Manchester Arena with boyfriend Liam Curry, 19, as “bubbly and full of enthusiasm”.

She starts work as a full-time apprentice travel agent at Westoe Travel in South Shields in June. She currently studies music at college and works part-time at the travel agency.

Brett said: “If anyone has seen her please get in touch. She is always smiling, nothing troubles her. She has a lovely, bubbly personality.”

Liam’s family had organised the concert trip for the couple so they could have some time away together following the recent death of Liam’s dad.

“This was a trip for the two of them to get away together,” added Brett, who said Liam picks Chloe up every Wednesday and Friday from work. “The family are all still down in Manchester looking for them.”

In total 22 people have been confirmed dead in the suicide bomb attack, while many are still missing and unaccounted for.

A hotline has been set up for people concerned about loved ones: 0800 096 0095.
