British Airways has cancelled all its flights from Heathrow and Gatwick airports for the rest of today (Saturday) due to a computer problem.
Heathrow Airport says it is “working closely” with BA to resolve the issue.
The airline says there is no evidence of a cyber attack, and said in a statement: “A major IT system failure is causing very severe disruption to our flight operations worldwide.”
There have also been issues with BA’s website.
BA has apologised for the “global system outage” and said it was “working to resolve the problem”.
Following a major IT system failure this morning, we’ve cancelled all flights to and from Heathrow and Gatwick for the rest of today. 1/2
