Croatia has emerged as one of the fastest growing destinations this year based on bookings from the UK for self-catering operator Novasol.
Bookings are up by 44% over last year, making the Adriatic country the company’s second most popular destination from the UK, overtaking France.
Spain continues to dominate with a 35% year-on-year increase in self-catering holiday home bookings.
Denmark is the fourth most popular destination, with bookings up by more than a quarter over 2016.
Italy completes the list of the top five most popular destinations, with bookings up by 25%.
Novasol UK general manager, Alex Stuart, said: “Holiday homes in Spain are proving more popular than ever this year with many more people enjoying the freedom this gives you.
“However, Croatia has been tipped to become a major destination for sun-seeking Brits over the past few years and our surge in bookings suggests the country may be becoming a top destination amongst British holidaymakers.”
