Budget carrier Wow Air adds Dallas as 15th transatlantic destination

Dallas in Texas is being added as the 15th transatlantic destination to be served by Icelandic budget carrier Wow Air.

Flights from Reykjavik will run three times a week from May 23 next year with connections from Gatwick and Stansted. Fares start at £129.99 one-way.

The service to Dallas Fort Worth airport will be operated by widebody Airbus A330 aircraft.

The new service means that Wow Air will offer 15 transatlantic destinations next year – Chicago, Pittsburgh, New York, Toronto, Boston, Montreal, Washington, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Miami plus Detroit, Cleveland, St Louis and Cincinnati from April.

The airline’s founder and CEO Skúli Mogensen said: “It’s certainly been a busy year for us, with Dallas our eighth new US destination announcement this year alone.

“Dallas Fort Worth is one of the world’s most in-demand airports so to be able to service this area is a fantastic marker of Wow Air as a serious player in the transatlantic aviation market.

“As always we will continue to push the price point to fly as low as possible and open up the world to travellers of all budgets.”

DFW airport chief executive Sean Donohue added: “We’re pleased to welcome Wow Air to Dallas Fort Worth and look forward to providing our customers with another non-stop transatlantic destination.

“Reykjavik is a popular tourist destination, a growing market for international business and a convenient connecting point to continental Europe.”
