Clia has seen a record number of travel agencies become members of the association and has reached 4,000 for the first time.
The number of agent members in Europe has also increased with 1,000 agencies joining across France, Spain and the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, ‘Accredited Masters’ in the UK & Ireland have reached over 100 for the first time since the programme launched. The training programme aims to take learners from cruise novice to cruise expert using 100 available modules, attending ship visits, joining webinars, attending Clia events, taking cruise fam trips and sharing their knowledge and opinions with others through written pieces.
The news was announced at Clia UK’s inaugural Cruise360 event in Copenhagen this weekend.
Andy Harmer, senior vice president for membership and director for Clia UK and Ireland, said: “Clia has been supporting the travel agent community for 30 years and continues to offer a range of accredited learning programmes, resources and special events to agents which has resulted in these record breaking numbers.
“We are thrilled to welcome so many new agency members and as more people join, Clia is able to expand its support for agents in the UK and across Europe.”
