Worldchoice is to double the size of its cruise club and set up more niche product groups for agents to specialise in.
Already the cruise club has generated an increase in sales across its 40 members by 30% since its launch six months ago.
With news of this week’s successful merger with the Travel Trust Association and a new cruise club manager appointed, chairman Colin Heal claimed the club would now aim for 80 members.
Members pay a fee to be part of the group and benefit from incentives, offers, training and advice. The groups are likely to be extended to include TTA members.
“Members have to be prepared to commit to support cruiselines and the incentives we get,” he said.
Further specialist groups likely to be set up in the near future include one for longhaul and for coach holidays.
