Homeworking organisation Future Travel is to hold its conference in Manchester in the wake of the XL Leisure Group collapse.
The Co-operative Travel owned company decided to ditch its Tenerife location because many of the 200 agent delegates and 50 managers and suppliers had booked on XL Airways’ flights, which were lost following the parent company’s demise. Many agents were keen to stay in the UK should there be further problems to sort out for customers.
The conference will now take place at The Co-operative Travel’s headquarters in central Manchester.
The conference dates have also changed. It was due to take place at the end of October and will now happen on November 12-13.
Head of Future Travel Sheena Darby said: “Our number one priority is to provide excellent customer service, and to ensure that our homeworkers are available to their clients during these uncertain times.”
