Advantage 2008: Luxury agents reap rewards

Advantage agents focusing on the luxury sector have seen a sales increase of 102% in the last year.


More than 50 members with more than 80 outlets have reported the increase after joining the Luxury Specialist Programme with the consortium. Agents are given support through product and training days with operators as well as targeted sales support, exclusive offers and window displays.


This follows news that Advantage members in its winter sports specialist programme earlier this month reported a 36% growth in revenues.

Advantage chief executive John McEwan said: “The spectacular sales increases these luxury agents have seen demonstrates beyond doubt that specialisation can give businesses a unique USP.


“Holidaymakers at the upper end of the market understandably want the highest levels of service from their agent, both in terms of access to the very best products and excellent knowledge from their travel consultant.”
