Budget airline easyJet has celebrated its 15th anniversary of its base at Newcastle International Airport.
The carrier is the largest out of Newcastle, where it had cake for passengers to tuck into at check-in.
Passengers on board a flight to Geneva won prizes including a voucher for two return flights and afternoon tea.
EasyJet has flown more than 18.6 million passengers out of Newcastle since its operations started there in 2003. It offers 15 domestic and international routes, the most popular destination of which being Alicante.
Ali Gayward, easyJet UK country director, said: “We are proud to be the biggest airline in Newcastle.
“EasyJet looks forward to continuing to provide low fares and friendly customer service to our passengers in the North East.”
Nick Jones, chief executive officer at Newcastle International Airport, added: “Of all our airline partners, easyJet carries the most passengers, taking the North East travelling public to a great range of destinations and we’re delighted to be celebrating this milestone with them.
“We can’t wait to see where the next 15 years will take us.”
