Russell Parr to leave Holiday Taxis

Holiday Taxis sales and marketing director Russell Parr is to leave the company this summer.

Parr, who will have been with the Burgess Hill-based transfer specailist for two years in mid-August, plans to do consultancy work or set up his own travel business. He is leaving to be closer to his family in the Midlands.

He said: “There are a lot of opportunities out there and if something comes up before then I would be foolish not to look at it. It could be management consultancy or my own venture.”

Parr previously worked for The Vertical Group for a year as sales director and prior to that was new business sales manager for Comtec for around two and a half years.

Chief executive Paul Stanyer said he is now seeking a successor for Parr.

Meanwhile, Parr said February sales “took off” after a tough January. Since then, sales have been consistently up week on week, he said.

He added: “We are enjoying the impact of new business that we signed last year. We are into longterm partnerships and slowly that message is getting through. We are not in the game of stacking it high and selling it cheap.”
