A former Tui travel consultant has been named as travel trade marketing manager for Manchester airport.
Olivia Bussey joins the UK’s third largest airport as it gears up for its busiest ever summer.
Working as part of the airport’s marketing team, Bussey will be responsible for promoting the airport’s 220-plus destinations and 70 airlines to the trade.
Her role will see her look to strengthen ties with the trade, as well as organising and delivering events throughout the airport’s catchment area.
She takes up her new job ahead of celebrations to mark the airport’s 80th birthday and after the announcement of two new long-haul routes by Jet Airways to Mumbai and Ethiopian Airlines to Addis Ababa.
Head of marketing, Patrick Alexander, said: “We’re delighted that Olivia has joined the team. She brings with her an extensive knowledge of how the travel industry works.
“As the airport continues to grow with a £1 billion transformation programme and more new routes coming on board, it’s hugely important that travel agents come on the journey with us.”
Bussey, who graduated with first-class honours in business and marketing from the University of Sunderland, added: “With so much going on at the airport, it’s a really exciting time to join the team.
“I can’t wait to get out on the road and spread the Fly Manchester message to travel agents across our catchment area.”
