An appointment booking area controlled by Smart TV equipment forms part of an “experiential” new outlet opened by Barrhead Travel.
The new store in Port Glasgow Retail Park is a relocation as part of a £2.5m expansion project.
The 2,500 square foot branch is more than twice the size of a previous store in Greenock’s Oak Mall.
Staff numbers have doubled, bringing the team up to 17 travel consultants, led by manager Roseanne Gauge.
Technology, described by Barrhead as industry leading, has been installed in the store which features a dedicated cruise, long-haul and VIP area as well as a three-person foreign currency unit.
Barrhead Travel president Sharon Munro said: “We are delighted to announce the new store opening in Port Glasgow.
“We are extremely proud to be not only expanding our stores throughout the UK, but also growing our branches where we already have an established local presence.
“We have invested heavily in our team, location and technology to create an experiential store that pushes the boundaries of travel in retail.”
The new store follows openings in the last year in Belfast, Southampton and most recently, Fort Kinnaird.
