Flight Centre has opened a store in the centre of York – its 82nd shop nationwide.
The Parliament Street store was officially opened on October 6 by the Lord Mayor, Cllr Keith Orrell, and customers were greeted on the day by a Flight Centre koala bear (pictured).
It follows a three year search by the company for the right premises in the city.
Lucy Clifton, head of sales, said: “With so many stores across the UK we felt York was the ideal place for our latest opening. One of the most important factors has been finding the right site, so we are pleased to be in the heart of York.”
Flight Centre has more than 18,000 staff and 2,500 stores across its leisure, corporate and wholesale businesses worldwide.
