A premium economy cabin is to be introduced on Finnair long-haul flights.
The Finnish flag carrier is also revamping the cabins of its domestic and regional ATR turbo prop aircraft.
The new long-haul premium economy cabin will make its debut in 2020 with the new ATR cabins being unveiled next year.
Increased space and comfort is being promised in premium economy along with an enhanced service offering.
Planning of the cabin design, service concept and its commercial positioning are underway with more detail to be released in due course, the airline said.
The introduction of premium economy on Finnair’s long-haul fleet starts at the end of 2020 and is expected to take two years to complete.
Meanwhile, Finnair’s first ATR aircraft featuring s renewed cabin is expected to be in operation in summer 2019.
All 12 refurbished aircraft will be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2020.
Finnair’s ATR aircraft are currently used for domestic flights in Finland, on flights to the Baltics, to Gdansk in Poland and to Stockholm’s Bromma airport. The flights are operated by Finnair’s partner Norra.

“Finnair’s investment in new and refreshed cabins in its regional ATR aircraft will also enhance the customer experience on shorter journeys, featuring familiar colours and designs from Finnair’s distinctive Nordic long-haul cabin interiors.”
