Thomas Cook head of retail to leave business

Thomas Cook’s head of retail Michelle Baillie is to leave the business after two years.

Baillie joined Cook from Tui where she had worked in sales roles for two decades, including as divisional sales manager.

Baillie, who reported into UK retail director Kathryn Darbandi, will leave Cook in three months’ time.

Darbandi said: “Michelle Baillie has decided to leave Thomas Cook and I’d like to personally thank her for all that she has achieved over the last two years.

“Michelle will remain with us for three months to allow for a comprehensive handover.”

Cook made a number of changes to its senior management team last month, including the appointment of a new retail chief and a promotion for Phil Gardner.

Anth Mooney, formerly chief financial services officer, joined the UK management team as chief of UK retail and money to “reinvigorate Thomas Cook’s retail estate” and “strengthen its offer of travel-focused financial services products”.

Gardner was promoted to sales and e-commerce director, adding to his existing responsibilities of commercial sales, third -party relations and Freedom Travel Group.

Under the new structure, Darbandi reports into Mooney.
