Affordable Travel Group director Michael Stevens has died.
Stevens, who was also a director on the Institute of Travel and Tourism board and earlier this year challenged chairman Steven Freudmann’s position in the travel agency category, died of pneumonia on August 8.
He had fought the illness for several weeks.
Affordable Travel Group managing director Angela Day paid tribute to Stevens and said he would be “dearly missed”.
She said: “During the time Michael and I worked together, I found him not only an absolute pleasure to work with, but an aspiring lovely man with a very large kind heart. The industry has lost a valuable asset and so many of us have lost a very dear friend.”
Details of the funeral have yet to be released.
