Ryanair is claiming record website visits and bookings during its ‘cyber week’ sale.
More than 25 million website visits were achieved across eight consecutive days of offers running last week.
The no-frills carrier calculated that this was more traffic than Marks & Spencer receives in one month and more than Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain receive in one year.
November 20 saw the biggest ever day for visits and bookings – beating the previous record of the same day last year – with more than 5.5 million visits to the Ryanair.com website.
Chief marketing officer Keny Jacobs said: “We are pleased to announce record visits during our week-long ‘cyber week’ sale with over 25 million visits in total.
“Last Tuesday was our busiest every day for bookings, with over 5.5 million visits to the Ryanair.com website, the equivalent of the total population of Norway.
“These record visits and bookings reflect continued demand for our low fares and an even greater choice of destinations on offer.
“To celebrate, we have extended our ‘cyber week’ sale, with up to £30 off return flights across our European network.
“These incredibly low fares must be booked by midnight tonight.”
The discount applies to travel between Janaury and May.
