Future Travel, the homeworking division of The Co-operative Travel, has confirmed its 2009 conference will be held at at the Sol Antillas Hotel near Palma, Majorca, from October 20-22.
Future is planning to attract in excess of 150 homeworkers to the event.
Managing director Jane Atkins said: “It has been a difficult year for the travel industry and in these challenging times we have to ensure that we re-group and re-focus on what is key to making a profit.
“This conference will give Future Travel’s homeworkers the opportunity to mix with their colleagues and peers to exchange ideas and best practice.
“It is also a fantastic opportunity for a team of homeworkers who operate remotely and with a certain degree of isolation to meet with key suppliers and members of their head office team.”
Spanish Tourist Office director Ignacio Vasallo said: “We are thrilled to support the conference alongside the Balearic Islands Tourist Board and the council of Majorca as proof of our commitment to the UK travel industry and the importance of its role in Spanish tourism.
“Figures since August 2008 show that Spain accounts for 22% of The Future Travel’s sales “.
