IHG recruits Nestle executive for marketing role

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has appointed Nigel Conway as marketing shared services vice-president for the Europe, Middle East, Asia and Africa region.

His team will provide a centralised marketing resource across the region for IHG’s portfolio of brands, which include Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, and Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts.

Based at IHG’s global headquarters in Denham, Buckinghamshire, he will report to Michael Menis, marketing shared services senior vice-president.

Conway joins IHG from Nestlé, where he spent more than a decade in a range of roles, most recently as global head of media and agency operations, overseeing major global media and creative agency relationships. He has also worked for WPP and Publicis Groupe in senior client leadership roles.

Menis said: “We are delighted Nigel is joining the team. He will play a crucial role in delivering campaigns for our brands that not only drive awareness but also fortify brand loyalty among our guests.

“With his extensive experience and in-depth knowledge across all media distribution channels, we know Nigel will provide strong leadership for our marketing efforts across the region.”

Conway added: “I am thrilled to be joining a company with such a well-loved and iconic portfolio of brands. Managing multi-regional businesses and global media and creative agency partnerships is an area I’m truly passionate about and I look forward to helping IHG’s in-market teams deliver world-class campaigns across such a vast and exciting region.”
