THE Advertising Standards Authority has upheld a fourth complaint in 12 months against low-cost carrier Ryanair.
The latest incident involved an advert for a one-way flight from Stansted to Brittany Dinard priced at £19.99 for customers who booked by June 26. The adverts were not put up until three days after this date.
Ryanair said that in fact the offer ran until the middle of July, but that there had been a mistake on the advertisements.
Commercial director Tim Jeans said: “Yes, we made a mistake and we were wrong. We had the wrong close-out dates.
“Our ads are price led and we run literally hundreds of them across Europe and occasionally we make mistakes.”
In its adjudication the ASA also noted that Ryanair displayed a lack of co-operation when asked to supply documents showing they had sold Stansted-Dinard tickets for the amount advertised.
Last month, the ASAupheld a separate complaint against Ryanair by a customer who had seen an advert for a return ticket to Paris for £49, but was unable to book a ticket for that price.
