Iglu joins AWTE to nurture talent

Ski and cruise specialist Iglu.com has become a member of the Association of Women Travel Executives.

Simone Clark (pictured), Iglu’s senior vice-president of global supply, said the company membership would help the online agency to attract more female talent and enable current members of staff to network with AWTE members.

Currently the Wimbledon-based company employs about 450 members of staff.

“Membership is probably overdue, but now we have more time as we have more people on the board, so we can go to AWTE events and network,” she said.

“The key reason is that we want to attract more female talent into our organisation, especially in IT.

“We want our women to develop and network – and the AWTE does some great training and coaching.”

Clark was one of the 60 most influential women in travel named by the AWTE in 2014.

• In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, the AWTE is holding an afternoon tea at Browns in Victoria, London, starting at 3pm.
