New hotel OTA to work with agents

A newly-launched accommodation website called Gomingo is offering agents using the platform the opportunity to earn commission from hotel bookings.

Sanjay Patel, co-founder of Gomingo said: “For agents we have had a huge amount of interest. From a price and ease-of-use point of view it works for them. We’ve tailored the platform so agents can set up a user account and manage their inventory directly from there and they can also still earn their commission by making bookings with those hotels.”

The platform has created a dedicated landing page for agents and has said it plans to incentivise agents. Gomingo is additionally looking into discount schemes and co-marketing partnerships.

Patel added: “We don’t want to just be an OTA who is benefiting at the expense of the trade.”

Gomingo hopes it will attract increased room stock by offering an initial 0% commission for property owners, hosts and hotels who list on its new platform.

Gomingo has exceeded 21,000 rooms globally in 3,000 properties in 85 countries spread across hotels, villas, apartments and bed and breakfasts. The platform also offers more eccentric and unusual accommodation such as castles and cabins.

The company has pledged that its commission will never be above 15% when they begin charging, enabling hotels to list inventory at a lower rate.
