Tailor Made Travel has acquired luxury retail agency Blue Skies Travel in Cardiff for an undisclosed sum.
The deal is due to be completed on May 1 and comes as the Welsh miniple takes on the leases at a further two properties.
The acquisition of Blue Skies Travel, in the Whitchurch area of Cardiff, and the additional two new openings, one in the Canton area of Cardiff and one in Newport, brings the agency chain’s network to 19 stores.
Blue Skies Travel will continue its own brand for around a year, when it will be rebranded to Tailor Made Travel. All staff have been retained.
Simon Morgan, Tailor Made Travel chief executive, said he hoped to reach 22 stores by the end of the year. “Hopefully by the close of play this year we will have the most stores in Wales,” he said, referring to the chain’s rival in Wales, Travel House, which has 21 branches.
The expansion comes as the company prepares to rebrand Regal Travel, which it bought last year. The agency will switch to Tailor Made Travel on June 1 – a year after its acquisition by Tailor Made Travel.
