Personal Travel Agents rolls out business reporting tool

The Personal Travel Agents at Co-operative Travel has launched a business reporting tool to help its homeworkers monitor their performance more closely and track business and customer trends.

MyBiz is accessed through a business analytics service called Power BI and allows homeworkers to review and analyse their performance since joining the homeworking group, which is part of The Midcounties Co-operative Travel and has 160 agents in the UK.

It helps users compare sales, profit, margin and earning year on year and month on month. Previously, Personal Travel Agents were updated at the end of each month, but MyBiz allows them to see how their business is performing when they want to.

Sheena Whittle, head of The Personal Travel Agents at Co-operative Travel, said: “We wanted to give our homeworkers non-stop visibility of and better control over the performance of their businesses, which will ultimately make them even more successful.

“The new platform is online and can be accessed at any time by the agent. Our Agent Development Team can also access the data and provide support to our Personal Travel Agents by reviewing and analysing the data together.”

She added: “MyBiz also allows agents to slice and dice the data in a way they have not been able to do before. Whereas the previous system of business reporting was very static, MyBiz is wholly interactive and provides them with the means to analyse their performance to a degree that’s not been available in the past.”

Stage one of MyBiz was rolled out to the homeworkers in the first quarter of 2019. Phase two will be launched later this year and will allow agents to drill down deeper into the business performance and customer data to help them recognise trends in how their businesses perform throughout the year, as trends within their customers base.
