For many couples, the islands of the Caribbean have long-been associated with romantic getaways.
Now, Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority are taking it one step further and partnering with raunchy publisher Mills and Boon to release five short stories dedicated to the destination for ‘Romance Month’ this June.
Titles include the ‘Holiday Fling to Forever’ and ‘Second Chance to Sail into Sunset’.
The tourism authority claims the islands are “the most romantic islands in the Caribbean” due to their “picture-perfect sunsets, pink and white sandy beaches and crystal-clear oceans.”
Keeping on the love theme, the destination carried out a survey which found 60% of Brits have had a holiday romance.
It also found over half (51%) admitted to more than one holiday fling, 49% have kept in touch with their holiday romance, 19% started a long-term relationship and one in ten going on to get married.
Cherrie Osborne, director of tourism UK & Europe said: “Antigua has long been considered as not only the Caribbean’s capital of love but one of the world’s most romantic destinations. We know the island’s beautiful beaches, breath taking views and warm hospitality will be an ideal backdrop for these five short stories.”
