UK sales manager Charlie Cooper has left Links Travel & Tours.
The Asia specialist tour operator confirmed Cooper is leaving the travel industry and moving to Spain to work as a personal trainer.
The keen long distance runner said: “After five years it’s time to move on and say good bye to Links Travel and the travel industry.
“I’ll miss you all, but now is the time to move on and follow my dream of working as a personal trainer in Spain.”
Cooper has worked in travel since 1988, when he worked for Hogg Robinson Travel, and also had spells at Cosmos, Redwing, Sunmed, Hoseasons, All Canada and Wendy Wu before joining Links Travel & Tours.
Links Travel & Tours owner Helen Li said: “Charlie Cooper has been a wonderful asset to Links Travel, and we are all sad to see him leave. During his time here, out on the road working with Travel Agents, Charlie has managed to get trade bookings to total over 50% of the company’s sales, from a zero start, which has been a great achievement.
“We are a small team working closely together on everything, and Charlie will not only leave a big hole, but will be a hard act to follow. I am sure everyone in the industry who has met or worked with Charlie over the years, will join me and the rest of the Links Travel team in wishing him a happy and successful life in Spain.”
