Holiday Extras expands Newcastle airport parking options

New car parking options at Newcastle airport are being made available via Holiday Extras.

Premium meet and greet and premium fast track at the airport are being added to the holiday add-ons firm’s portfolio.

A new long-term deal includes an extension of the airport’s existing partnership with Chauntry Parkspace – a firm acquired by Holiday Extras in 2017 – to manage availability across the airport’s car parks.

It follows the north-east gateway outlining expansion plans from almost 5.4 million passengers a year as part of a masterplan for 2035.

Newcastle airport expects to handle more than one million passengers during the summer with the top destinations listed as the Spanish Costas, Portuguese Algarve, Turkey, Greece and Dubai.

An expected 120,000 passengers will connect via hubs such as Heathrow, Amsterdam, Dubai and Paris to fly on to countries such as Thailand, Bali, Australia and the US.

Munich will be added as another connecting hub with the introduction of Lufthansa flights in February 2020.

Airport head of commercial Dean Ward said: “As we’ve just published our masterplan for the next 15 years, this is a good time for us to cement some of our most important, long-term commercial relationships.

“The combination of parking technology and inventory solutions on offer from Holiday Extras is what makes this partnership a success for us, and we look forward to continuing to work together.”

Holiday Extras commercial director Matt Paxton added: “This deal incorporates solutions from two parts of our strategic parking technology portfolio. It’s a fantastic opportunity to build on the relationship we’ve already secured between the airport and both Holiday Extras and Chauntry Parkspace.”
