Icelolly.com digs deep at beach clean in Yorkshire

Holiday metasearch and deals publisher icelolly.com has helped launch a beach clean to raise awareness of sustainable travel.

A team of icelolly.com employees arrived at Hunmanby Gap beach near Scarborough after departing from Leeds, where the company is based, at 9am.

The collection on Yorkshire Day (August 1) was organised for icelolly by the the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

To kick off, Luzanne Fletcher, a trust member, gave a short speech to highlight the importance of beach cleans to the region and what impact rubbish can have on the environment.

The icelolly team were then given litter pickers and reusable bags to collect the rubbish.

Richard Singer, icelolly’s chief executive, said: “Although we feature holiday deals to destinations around the world and the UK, icelolly takes great pride in being a Leeds-based business.

“In collaboration with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, we marked National Yorkshire Day by helping to raise awareness of the simple steps we can all take to protect the environment and wildlife, whether at home or abroad.”
