Silversea has appointed Hurtigruten’s former explorer manager as its new expedition sales manager.
Danny Giles left his position at Hurtigruten after the line decided to restructure its sales team in September.
Giles will take the position vacated by former expeditions sales manger Akvile Marozaite who moved to an operations role at Silversea.
He will start his role on October 21.
Speaking at an expedition programme launch in London today (October 15), Erin Johnson, Silversea’s UK director of marketing, said: “He will really help put Silversea expeditions on the map.”
Both Giles and Maria Ersmarker, Hurtigruten’s national events and sales manager, were placed on gardening leave until October 4 by the line following the restructure announcement.
Giles was with Hurtigruten for more than 10 years when he decided to leave.
