Explorer’s ‘life-line’ for Holiday Direct agents

Travel franchise firm Explorer Travel has offered to take on any agents from failed Holiday Direct free of charge.

Explorer Travel, usually charges up to £13,000 to new franchisees who want to join their network of over 100 franchisees.

Steve Wood, managing director, said:“All ex Holiday Direct agents will get a fully bookable travel website and support from our head office in Manchester so that they can continue to support their clients and continue with their business with the minimum if disruption.

“The failure of Holiday Direct is a good opportunity for us to expand our already successful network of home based travel agents and we believe that our investment in any Holidays Direct agents that decide to join us will pay dividends in the future.”

Abta member, Explorer Travel was founded in 2005 and offers five levels of membership to match all budgets and requirements.

Franchisees can either opt for full back office systems or allow Explorer Travel to administer all bookings. They can also choose to operate specialist travel websites selling a specific destination or genre of travel.
