Police are appealing for witnesses after robbers stole a large amount of foreign currency from Thomas Cook Altrincham.
The thieves, armed with a pickaxe handle, lay in wait for staff to open the shop on Monday, October 18.
They threatened two workers and forced them to hand over bundles of cash, before tying them up and escaping out the back door of the shop.
Detective Constable Emma Bushell, of Stretford CID, said: “It is thought these men were already in the shop when staff arrived.
“The whole robbery lasted around 15 minutes so the area would have been quite busy with people heading out to work.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen the men leaving the store around 9am, or if there was anyone acting suspiciously in the area prior to the robbery.”
